Khorramshahr Liberated

The battle of Khorramshahr was the first major engagement between Iraqi and Iranians forces in the war that lasted from 1980 to1988. After occupying the city, it remained in Iraqi hands until April 1982, when the Iranians launched Operation Beit ol-Moqaddas (Persian: بیت المقدس) to recapture the Khuzestan province. Every year Iranians celebrate this day as the Liberation of Khorramshahr.
The play, Khorramshahr Liberated, was written in 2008 by Pejman Shahverdi, a young playwright and a graduate student in directing.
